While brutal force has been used to create Zionist Israel and sustain it thus far, Zionist claims to Palestine are false. Actually, from the five thousand years of known written human history, there has been a continuous Palestinian-Canaanite presence in the Holy Land. Despite the Zionist false claims, the ancient Israelites ruled part of the land for only 85 years (during the reign of Prophets David and Solomon , peace be upon them, and Solomon's son).

After that, the Egyptians conquered Palestine-Canaan in 925 BC, followed by Assyrians, Babylonians, Persians, Greeks, and Romans, before the Arab Muslim rule, starting from 636 AD.

By the Time Jesus, peace be upon him, started his mission, the three population groups of Canaanites, Palestinians, and Israelites were melted together in religion and language. Most of them became Christians when Constantine converted in 313 AD. Then, most of them became Muslims in the 7th and 8th centuries AD.

So, Palestinian Muslims, Christians, and Jews are the ones who have the right to claim descent from ancient Israelites, Palestinians, and Canaanites, not Zionists from other continents.

No matter what the Zionists and their supporters do, they cannot change the will of God, Who promised the Holy Land to Abraham and his descendants, basically the Palestinian Muslims and Christians.

No matter how much persecution and aggression the Zionists and their supporters inflict upon the Palestinian people, they will never be able to force them out of the Holy Land, which Allah, praise to Him, promised for them, and kept His promise ever since.

This is a necessary brief background to understand the US-Backed Zionist Israeli continuous wars against the Arab nation generally, and the Palestinian people in particular, which included the wars of 1948, 1956, 1967, 1978, 1982, the brutal crushing of the two Uprisings (1987-1993 and 2000-2004), 2009, 2012, 2014, 2021, and the current genocidal war on Gaza (Since October 7, 2023), which has culminated a blockade of Gaza since 2007. In addition, the Israeli occupation and apartheid regime launched so many covert operations, raids, and air strikes on many Arab states since 1948.

The following news stories are just examples, not a systematic record, of the Israeli occupation government abuse, mistreatment, and violations of Palestinian human rights, on daily basis.

UN warns of mass famine in Gaza as international calls grow for unrestricted entry of aid

Saturday 30-August-2025

GAZA, (PIC)

The United Nations Office for the Coordination of Humanitarian Affairs (OCHA) has warned that nearly one million people in northern Gaza face imminent displacement amid Israel’s ongoing attacks on the city, which has been officially designated a “high-risk combat zone.”

UN spokesperson Stéphane Dujarric said the ongoing Israeli military operations “could have even more catastrophic consequences for civilians across the Gaza Strip if their intensity escalates.”

He added that Israel’s designation of Gaza as a “high-risk combat zone” increases dangers to civilians’ lives and obstructs humanitarian workers from delivering essential aid.

Israeli army spokesperson Avichay Adraee confirmed on Friday that Gaza is considered a “dangerous combat area” and that the temporary local ceasefires do not apply to the city.

Meanwhile, UNRWA communications advisor Adnan Abu Hasna warned, speaking to Al Jazeera, that thousands of Palestinians could be killed or injured and humanitarian conditions could further collapse if Israel carries out its planned operations in Gaza.

The Integrated Food Security Phase Classification (IPC), a global initiative monitoring food security and malnutrition, reported that famine is spreading throughout the Gaza governorate.

More than half a million people are experiencing severe hunger and deprivation, and the IPC predicts the famine will extend to Deir al-Balah (central Gaza) and Khan Yunis (south) by the end of the month, urging immediate action to halt the crisis at any cost.

French President Emmanuel Macron emphasized that “the famine declared by the United Nations in Gaza is a direct result of blocking humanitarian aid,” calling the humanitarian catastrophe “completely unacceptable.”

He urged an immediate cessation of fighting, the resumption of aid deliveries, and protection for civilians, stressing that “a just and lasting peace can only be achieved through a political settlement based on a two-state solution, ensuring lasting security for both Palestinians and Israelis.”

Daily hospital reports continue to record deaths from starvation and malnutrition, mostly among children, amid ongoing restrictions on food, medicine, and fuel necessary to operate health facilities.

ICRC: Safe evacuation of Gaza City impossible

GENEVA, August 30, 2025 (WAFA) –

The International Committee of the Red Cross (ICRC) stated on Saturday that the evacuation of Gaza City cannot be carried out safely under current conditions and would result in mass displacement beyond the capacity of any area in the Strip to absorb.

The organization pointed out to the dire humanitarian situation in Gaza City and the severe risks posed to civilians by Israeli evacuation orders, particularly as Israel seeks to empty the city in preparation for its occupation.

According to the ICRC, such an evacuation would trigger a large-scale displacement of Palestinians amid widespread destruction of civilian infrastructure and acute shortages of food, water, shelter, and medical care caused by Israel’s ongoing assault.

The committee also noted that civilians are already traumatized by months of war, living in fear of what lies ahead, and that many cannot comply with evacuation orders because they are starving, ill, wounded, or living with disabilities.

It further stressed that under international humanitarian law, all civilians are protected, regardless of whether they leave or remain in the city, and must be allowed to return to their homes.

New strain of influenza spreads in Gaza amid severe medicine shortages due to the blockade

Sunday 31-August-2025

GAZA, (PIC)

The Palestinian Government Media Office (PGMO) in Gaza confirmed the wide spread of a new strain of influenza in the Gaza Strip amid a severe shortage of medicines caused by the Israeli blockade and the ongoing war of extermination.

In a statement on Sunday, the PGMO explained that in recent days, especially among displaced people in shelters, as well as among patients and children in particular, there has been a sharp and widespread outbreak of this new influenza strain, under catastrophic health conditions caused by the Israeli blockade and ongoing genocide.

The rapid spread was attributed to extreme overcrowding, lack of water and ventilation, and the collapse of health services due to the war and Israeli restrictions, posing a direct threat to the lives of the most vulnerable groups.

It noted that the few hospitals still operating are handling this wave of illness amid severe shortages of staff and medical supplies, relying only on primary care and symptomatic treatments, without comprehensive treatment protocols, due to the Israeli “criminal measures”.

The PGMO stressed that infections are estimated in the thousands across all governorates of the Gaza Strip, with daily increases, particularly among children, the elderly, and patients with chronic diseases.

It added that no specific or effective medicines for this strain are available in Gaza; and if they exist, they are in extremely limited quantities, virtually nonexistent, because of the Israeli ongoing prevention of dozens of essential medicines from entering, in clear violation of Article (56) of the Fourth Geneva Convention, which obligates it to provide medical care to populations under occupation.

The PGMO held Israel and the US administration fully responsible for the deterioration of health conditions in the Gaza Strip, and called on the international community, as well as Arab and Islamic states, to intervene to stop the genocide, open the crossings, lift the blockade, and bring in medicines before it is too late.

Seven out of ten pregnant and breastfeeding women in Gaza suffer from malnutrition

Saturday 30-August-2025

GAZA, (PIC)

ActionAid International warned on Saturday about the alarming rise in malnutrition among pregnant and breastfeeding women in the Gaza Strip, confirming that 70 to 75% of the 300 women who visit Al-'Awda Hospital daily, an ActionAid partner, are suffering from food shortages and a lack of essential supplements for pregnancy.

The organization stated that it received testimonies from doctors and pregnant women in Gaza about the complications resulting from hunger and the lack of medical supplies, just a week after the Integrated Food Security Phase Classification (IPC) officially confirmed the occurrence of famine in Gaza City.

Dr. Yasser, a physician at Al-'Awda Hospital, said, “Women are suffering from malnutrition, which is reflected in reduced maternal weight, lower fetal weight, decreased fetal movement, and deteriorating health of both the mother and the baby. There are cases of anemia, calcium deficiency, and vitamin D deficiency, all of which negatively impact maternal and fetal health.”

Doctors warned that the lack of calories and nutrients is endangering the lives of pregnant women and their unborn babies, pointing to a rise in pregnancy complications, including miscarriages.

Dr. Mohammed Salha, acting director of Al-'Awda Hospital, added, “The situation in Gaza is extremely dire. More than 60,000 women have been affected by food shortages, and many are suffering from malnutrition. While our nutrition department distributes supplements, the need is far greater than our capacity.”

Some women shared their direct experiences. Niveen, two months pregnant, said, “There is no food or medical supplies. I’ve had two miscarriages due to the lack of vitamins and proper medical care.”

Another woman, Do'aa, who is about to give birth, said, “I feel dizzy and I tremble from hunger. There are no treatments or medications available.”

ActionAid called for an immediate and permanent ceasefire and an end to the blockade on humanitarian aid to allow the entry of food, medical supplies, and fuel. The organization emphasized that the human cost of the blockade is far too high, with daily reports of pregnancy complications caused by food shortages and lack of medical care.

UNRWA warns of a lost generation: 660,000 Gazan children are out of school

Saturday 30-August-2025

GAZA, (PIC)

The United Nations Relief and Works Agency for Palestine Refugees (UNRWA) affirmed on Saturday that children in the Gaza Strip have the right to education, while highlighting that 660,000 children remain out of school for the third consecutive year, a direct result of the ongoing genocidal war by Israel now entering its 23rd month.

The UN agency described the conflict in Gaza as “a war on children that must end. Children must be protected at all times,” warning that Gazan children are “close to becoming a lost generation.”

The agency called for an immediate ceasefire and full access for children to return to their schools and daily lives.

Meanwhile, the Palestinian Ministry of Education and Higher Education announced that the new academic year will begin in early September in the occupied West Bank, including east Jerusalem, but will be postponed until the 8th of September in other parts of the West Bank.

The Ministry estimated that Gaza is home to approximately 700,000 students whose education has been interrupted following years of deprivation and targeting. It also noted that 70,000 students have missed their chance to sit for their secondary school exit exams over two consecutive years.

Since the onset of the genocide, over 17,085 school-age students and more than 1,261 university students have been killed in Gaza, and over 25,213 school students and 2,671 university students have been injured, from 7 October 2023 to 26 August 2025, the Ministry’s latest update affirms.

In the West Bank, during the same period, Israeli forces killed approximately 108 school students and 35 university students and injured around 739 school students and over 231 university students while arresting 372 school students and more than 413 university students.

The Ministry further reported that Israel killed 739 school educators and 226 university educators in Gaza and injured 3,091 school staff and over 1,421 university staff. Additionally, in the West Bank, the occupation forces killed five educational staff members and wounded around 21 others, while arresting more than 182 school staff and approximately 17 university staff.

Gaza: Hospitals receive 66 martyrs, death toll climbs to 63,371

Saturday 30-August-2025

GAZA, (PIC, WAFA)

During the past 24 hours, hospitals in the Gaza Strip received the bodies of at least 66 civilians, as well as 345 people suffering from different injuries following Israeli attacks, according to the Palestinian Ministry of Health in Gaza, on Saturday morning.

Accordingly, a total of 11,240 people have been killed and 47,794 others have been injured since the Israeli occupation army resumed its genocidal war on Gaza on March 18, 2025.

The new fatalities increased the death toll from the Israeli genocidal war on Gaza, which started on October 7, 2023, to 63,371 martyrs, including 2,218 aid seekers, the health ministry said.

The Ministry added that the total number of the wounded also surged to 159,835 people, including 16,434 aid seekers.

The Ministry also said that Gaza’s hospitals recorded 10 new fatalities, including three children, in the past 24 hours due to starvation and malnutrition, bringing the death toll from the famine to 332 victims, including 124 children.

Emergency services are still unable to reach many casualties and dead bodies trapped under the rubble or scattered on roads across the war-torn enclave, as Israeli occupation forces continue to target ambulance and civil defense crews, according to the health authorities.

Israel's genocidal onslaught continues undeterred despite calls from the United Nations Security Council for an immediate ceasefire and directives from the International Court of Justice urging measures to prevent genocide and alleviate the dire humanitarian situation in Gaza.

Gaza: Death toll from starvation climbs to 332, including 124 children

Saturday 30-August-2025

GAZA, (PIC)

10 Palestinian citizens, including three children, died of starvation and malnutrition in the Gaza Strip within the past 24 hours, according to a statement released by Gaza’s health ministry on Saturday morning.

One of the children was an infant named Ranya Ghabin. Doctors reported that she died from malnutrition and the lack of adequate medical care.

The new victims have raised the total number of hunger-related deaths in the famished coastal territory to 332 people, including 124 children, the health ministry said.

Since March 2, the Israeli occupation army has been closing all the border crossings with Gaza, preventing the flow of humanitarian aid and vital needs. Although limited quantities of aid have recently been allowed in, they remain insufficient to meet the minimum basic needs of the population.

In a related context, UNRWA has urged the Israeli authorities to lift the ban preventing its humanitarian aid from entering Gaza, emphasizing the urgent need to address the humanitarian crisis.

“We are ready to continue our work. Our warehouses in Egypt and Jordan are stocked, ready to fill around 6,000 trucks,” UNRWA said in social media remarks on Saturday.

“UNRWA has the system in place to distribute aid safely and at scale. Let us take in our life-saving supplies by road,” the refugee agency added.

Another four were killed when Israeli warplanes struck a café in the Al-Shati refugee camp, West of Gaza City, while one man was killed in an airstrike that hit an apartment in Al-Tuffa'h neighborhood.

Earlier in the day, 12 Palestinians, including six children, were killed in two separate airstrikes targeting a tent shelter and a popular bakery west of Gaza City. Seven others were killed when Israeli forces bombed a residential building in al-Rimal neighborhood.

Israeli drones also dropped bombs on al-Sabra and al-Zaytoun neighborhoods, injuring several civilians. Two people were killed in Jabalya Al-Nazla, northern Gaza, when Israeli fire hit civilians near 'Haleema Al-Sa'diya School, which shelters displaced families.

In Al-Karama neighborhood, northwest of Gaza City, a woman and her child were killed when their home was struck by Israeli shelling, while another man was killed in an airstrike on an apartment in Al-Shawwa and Husari Tower on al-Wahda Street. In al-Nassr neighborhood, an Israeli strike killed 12 people, including women and children, in an area overcrowded with displaced families.

19 people killed in Israeli airstrike on residential building, bakery

Saturday 30-August-2025

GAZA, (PIC)

The Israeli occupation forces committed a brutal massacre targeting displaced civilians in Gaza City, resulting in dozens of deaths and injuries, along with widespread destruction of buildings, homes, and shops.

Local sources reported that Israeli warplanes bombarded a residential building without warning in the northern Al-Rimal neighborhood of Gaza City.

According to a spokesperson from the emergency department at Al-Shifa Medical Complex, the facility received 7 martyrs and dozens of wounded civilians, including children, following the strike on the Al-Rimal residential building in western Gaza.

Civil Defense spokesperson Mahmoud Basal confirmed that rescue teams recovered 19 bodies after the Israeli bombardment west of Gaza City, an attack that struck a residential building in Al-Rimal, as well as a bakery and a tent in the Al-Nasr neighborhood.

Local sources indicated the targeted area was densely populated with displaced families following recent military offensives by the Israeli army. The neighborhood also housed numerous commercial shops.

According to reports, the Israeli strike targeted a single building with three rockets, and no prior warning was given to residents.

Hamas condemned the attack, calling the bombing of a populated building in Al-Rimal an “escalation of genocide” and a brutal act aimed at terrorizing and forcibly displacing innocent civilians.

In an official statement, Hamas said, “This heinous atrocity and relentless bombardment of residential areas are part of official Israeli plans to destroy Gaza City and force its inhabitants to flee, a fully-fledged war crime that the occupation’s leaders brazenly admit to carrying out in full view of the world.”

Hamas called on the international community, Arab and Muslim countries, the United Nations, and all relevant institutions to intervene immediately, impose punitive measures against the occupation, and hold its fascist leaders accountable for their crimes against humanity.

Since 7 October 2023, Israel, backed by unequivocal US support, has been carrying out a campaign of genocide in Gaza, involving mass killings, starvation, destruction, and forced displacement, ignoring all international appeals and demands from the International Court of Justice to halt the assault.

This genocide has resulted in 63,371 deaths, 159,835 injuries, more than 9,000 missing persons, hundreds of thousands displaced, and famine that claimed 332 lives, including 123 children.

Dozens of casualties in large-scale Israeli attacks in Gaza

Saturday 30-August-2025

GAZA, (PIC)

The Israeli occupation army continued, last night and on Saturday, to carry out intensive deadly strikes and target civilians in different areas of the Gaza Strip, especially in Gaza City and the northern areas.

According to local media sources, Israeli forces continued today to detonate and bomb more homes and displace families in different areas of the Gaza Strip, further deepening the dire humanitarian crisis as the population grapples with worsening famine.

According to the Palestinian Information Center (PIC) reporter in Gaza, Israeli attacks have continued across the Gaza Strip, including an attack that killed four people and injured others in Gaza City’s Al-Zaytoun neighborhood.

Meanwhile, journalists reported that the Israeli army continued to carry out aerial and artillery attacks and detonate homes and buildings on a large scale in different areas of Gaza City and northern Gaza, particularly in the neighborhoods of Al-Zaytounn, Abu Iskandar, Jabalya Al-Nazla, and Jabalya Al-Balad.

Earlier today, from dawn until early morning, the Israeli army reportedly detonated five of its explosives-laden robots in the Jabalya an-Nazla area of northern Gaza.

The Israeli army also carried out incursions with its tanks and armored vehicles, which started advancing into the eastern areas of Gaza City.

Local sources reported that several families in the Abu Iskandar area, north of Gaza City, are unable to leave their homes due to the lack of transportation means, absence of safe places to seek refuge, and fears of being killed by Israeli forces.

12 people were massacred and many others were injured when Israeli warplanes bombed tents sheltering displaced families near the Abu Baker as-Siddiq in Gaza City’s an-Nasr neighborhood.

A child was killed and others were injured when a warplane bombed the headquarters of the Ahli Club in Gaza City’s Shaikh Radhwan neighborhood — which is used as a shelter center.

The Israeli army also attacked a group of citizens in Dair El-Bala'h’s Abu Aref street in central Gaza, killing a child and injuring others.

At least one person was killed and others were injured when an Israeli airstrike targeted an apartment sheltering displaced people in Gaza City’s Al-Rimal neighborhood.

A similar strike on an apartment in Gaza City’s Al-Karama area killed a woman and her child.

In central Gaza, at least five people were martyred, including a couple and their two girl children, and several others were either injured or reported missing following an Israeli attack on a house belonging to the family of Al-Hafi in Al-Nusayrat refugee camp.

In southern Gaza, a teenager was killed after an Israeli strike targeted a tent in Al-Mawasi area of Khan Younus.

A civilian suffered serious injuries when Israeli armored vehicles opened fire randomly at tents sheltering displaced families in Al-Asdaa area of Khan Younus.

The Israeli army also launched attacks on other areas of the Gaza Strip last night and today, killing and wounding more civilians, including children and women.

Meanwhile, dozens of people were martyred or injured in Israeli attacks on aid seekers near distribution points in separate areas of Gaza.

10 people, including three children, were also proclaimed dead due to starvation and malnutrition, while other Gazans were pronounced dead after they succumbed to injuries they sustained in recent attacks, according to Gaza’s health ministry today.

One Palestinian was killed and several others injured on Saturday evening in an Israeli airstrike on Gaza City.

According to local sources, the attack targeted a residential building near the Thai junction in the Al-Rimal neighborhood, in the western part of the city.

The ongoing Israeli aggression on Gaza since October 2023 has so far resulted in at least 63,371 documented Palestinian fatalities, with over 159,835 others injured.

Thousands of victims are feared trapped under rubble, inaccessible to emergency and civil defense teams due to Israeli attacks.

Israel's genocidal attacks continue unabated despite calls from the UN Security Council for an immediate ceasefire and directives from the International Court of Justice urging measures to prevent genocide and alleviate the dire humanitarian situation in Gaza.

PPS: IOA persists in the crime of forced disappearance of Gaza detainees

Saturday 30-August-2025

RAMALLAH, (PIC)

The Palestinian Prisoner Society (PPS) reported on Saturday that the Israeli occupation authority (IOA) continues to commit the crime of forced disappearance, one of the most prominent features of the ongoing genocide that has targeted Gaza for nearly two years.

In a statement marking the “International Day of the Victims of Enforced Disappearances,” the PPS said that thousands of Gaza residents, including women and children, have been subjected to this crime, which has escalated especially since Israeli ground invasion of the Strip.

The statement highlighted that forced disappearance has provided cover for widespread torture carried out against Gaza detainees, resulting in the death of dozens.

After two years of war, the PPS noted, official institutions still face major challenges in obtaining clear and accurate data on the number of Gaza prisoners and those who have died in custody.

The report also condemned the role of Israel’s judicial system in legitimizing forced disappearance by legalizing torture under the “Illegal Combatants Law” passed by the Knesset in 2002, which has enabled widespread mistreatment of prisoners.

Amendments to this law at the beginning of the current war, the PPS said, further entrenched the practice of forced disappearance, while Israel continues to withhold information on the detainees’ identities and locations.

In response, a number of human rights organizations filed petitions with the Israeli Supreme Court seeking disclosure of prisoner identities and locations, but the court has repeatedly acted as an instrument reinforcing crimes against Palestinians.

The PPS emphasized that Israel’s judicial system plays a central role in enabling forced disappearance and systematic torture by legitimizing the detention of thousands under the “Illegal Combatants Law.”

Following recent legal amendments, some human rights organizations have been able to verify the fate of a portion of Gaza detainees through correspondence with the Israeli occupation forces (IOF) and organizing visits to hundreds of prisoners, documenting previously unseen brutality.

Testimonies from detainees have revealed the extent of the atrocities, including systematic torture from the moment of arrest, during interrogation, and in prisons and military camps, leading to the martyrdom of dozens.

The statement noted that Israel has established special camps for Gaza prisoners, including Sde Teiman, a central site of torture and killings, as well as Anatot, Ofer, Naftali, and the Rakefet section of the Israeli prison administration, facilities where human rights groups were able to visit some detainees.

The PPS stressed that the IOF continues to use forced disappearance against Gaza detainees, a crime considered a violation of international law under the International Convention for the Protection of All Persons from Enforced Disappearance.

The PPS called on the international human rights community to move beyond persistent inaction, take decisive measures to hold Israel accountable, and halt its comprehensive aggression against the Palestinian people, including crimes against prisoners and detainees in prisons and camps, which constitute an extension of the ongoing genocide.

Currently, there is no precise data on the total number of Gaza detainees or those who have died as a result of torture or execution, except for figures released by the Israeli prison administration as of early August 2025. According to Israeli records, 2,378 detainees have been classified as “illegal combatants.”

The Global Sumoud Flotilla sets sail from Barcelona to break the Gaza siege

Sunday 31-August-2025

BARCELONA, (PIC)

The “Global Sumud (Resilience) Flotilla” set sail from the Spanish city of Barcelona on Sunday in a new humanitarian solidarity initiative aimed at breaking the Israeli blockade imposed on the Gaza Strip for years, which has intensified since last March.

The flotilla groups several international and humanitarian organizations, most notably the Freedom Flotilla Coalition, the Global Gaza Movement, the Convoy of Resilience, and Malaysia’s Nusantara Resilience Organization.

Participants finalized preparations to sail with dozens of ships loaded with humanitarian aid, joined by activists from 44 countries, along with European parliamentarians and public figures, including former Barcelona mayor Ada Colau and Portuguese left-wing MP Mariana Mortágua.

The flotilla’s steering committee said that this step aims to open a safe humanitarian corridor to the besieged enclave and to exert international pressure to stop the ongoing genocide against the Palestinian people.

It confirmed that parallel actions will be launched from Tunisia and other countries on September 4, coinciding with large-scale demonstrations in several countries around the world in support of the flotilla and the demand to end the blockade.

This initiative builds on the efforts of the Freedom Flotilla Coalition since 2010, when the Turkish ship Mavi Marmara came under a deadly attack by Israeli forces while attempting to break the naval blockade on Gaza.

Since then, attempts to break the siege have continued, including the ships Al-Dhameer (Conscience), Madleen, and Handthala earlier this year, all of which were attacked and seized by Israeli forces.

Since March 2, Israel has continued to close all crossings leading into the Gaza Strip, preventing the entry of humanitarian aid, causing unprecedented levels of famine, according to UN agencies.

Although Israeli authorities have allowed limited quantities of aid to enter in recent weeks, they fall far short of minimum needs, while many aid trucks are looted by armed gangs operating under Israeli protection, according to governmental and human rights sources.

The United Nations recently declared famine officially in Gaza City, warning that it could spread to the central and southern parts of the Strip by September if the international community fails to take concrete action to contain the disaster and protect civilians.

Global media campaign set for September to protest IOF killing of Palestinian journalists

Saturday 30-August-2025

GAZA, (PIC)

Reporters Without Borders, in collaboration with the Avaaz platform, will launch an unprecedented global media campaign on September 1 to protest the Israeli targeting of Palestinian journalists in Gaza.

The campaign, which includes participation from The New Arab website, calls on media organizations worldwide to blackout front pages, websites, and broadcast outlets while delivering a unified message demanding an end to attacks on journalists and ensuring unrestricted access for international press in Gaza.

Reporters Without Borders confirmed that around 150 media outlets have signed on to the campaign so far, including Al Jazeera, The Independent, +972, Local Call, The Intercept, Mediapart, L’Humanité, Forbidden Stories, il Fatto Quotidiano, El País, RTVE, Daraj, Mada Masr, Le Desk, and L’Orient-Le Jour (Lebanon), along with numerous outlets across Europe, Latin America, Africa, and Asia.

According to data published by Gaza’s Government Media Office, the Israeli army has killed 246 journalists and media workers since the start of the genocide.

The Committee to Protect Journalists (CPJ) has called this period the deadliest for journalists in decades, reporting 480 injured and 49 detained.

A special unit in the Israeli army has reportedly been tasked with identifying journalists whose reputations could be tarnished by falsely labeling them as combatants to justify targeting them and reduce international outrage over the killings of media workers, according to investigations by +972 and Local Call this month.

The reports indicate that a “legitimization cell” was established after the Al-Aqsa Flood in October 2023, to collect information enhancing Israel’s image and supporting diplomatic and military backing from key allies. In at least one case, the unit deliberately misrepresented a journalist as a combatant, a designation that in Gaza is effectively a death sentence.

The Israeli occupation army has also targeted media infrastructure in Gaza, striking 12 print media outlets, 23 digital media organizations, 11 radio stations, 16 satellite channels (including four local and 12 based abroad), five major printing presses, 22 smaller printing facilities, and five professional unions and press freedom institutions. Additionally, 32 homes of journalists were destroyed in airstrikes.

France and Germany reaffirm commitment to two-state solution, call for immediate end to Gaza war

PARIS, August 30, 2025 (WAFA) –

France and Germany have reaffirmed their commitment to the two-state solution as the only way to ensure Israelis and Palestinians live side by side in peace, security, and dignity, while guaranteeing stability across the region.

In a joint statement issued after a meeting between French President Emmanuel Macron and German Chancellor Friedrich Merz in Toulon, the two countries called for an immediate end to the war in Gaza and the delivery of humanitarian aid throughout the territory.

The statement urged a cessation of hostilities, with rapid, unrestricted humanitarian assistance coordinated by the United Nations and NGOs. It stressed the need for the immediate release of all hostages.

France and Germany condemned all attempts to annex or reoccupy Palestinian lands, including settlement expansion plans such as the E1 project east of Jerusalem. The statement expressed shock at the scale of human losses in Gaza and at reports of famine caused by the blockade and escalating Israeli attacks, denouncing any forced displacement of Palestinians.

The two countries also called on Israeli authorities to halt military attacks, lift humanitarian restrictions, and cooperate with the Palestinian Authority as the sole legitimate representative of the Palestinian people. This includes releasing withheld clearance revenues, maintaining existing banking arrangements, holding violent settlers accountable, and ensuring safe access for journalists and humanitarian workers across Gaza.

EU calls on Washington to reconsider visa ban on Palestinian officials

COPENHAGEN, August 30, 2025 (WAFA) –

The European Union's High Representative for Foreign Affairs and Security Policy, Kaja Kallas, urged the United States to reconsider its decision to deny entry visas to Palestinian officials ahead of next month’s United Nations General Assembly meetings.

Speaking on Saturday after participating in an informal meeting of EU foreign ministers in Copenhagen, Kallas emphasized that Washington should review its decision in light of existing agreements between the United Nations and its host country, taking into account international law and the UN's founding principles.

She confirmed that EU member states are united in this position and collectively call for the U.S. to allow Palestinian officials to participate in the upcoming UN sessions.

Editorial Notes about terms & names of people and places:

1. Names of people and places have been standardized to match standard Arabic grammatical rules.

2. Underlined letters and letters preceded by an apostrophe are references to Arabic letter sounds, which does not exist in the English alphabet.

3. The English letter i is equivalent to the Arabic short vowel known as kasra, as in Ibraheem and Qasim as well as in the English words sit and bit. So, it is incorrect to use it as a long vowel for such Arabic names as Jameel and Jibreel.

4. The English letter e is equivalent to the Arabi short vowel known as fat'ha, as in A'hmed and Mu'hammed.

5. It is more accurate to refer to the
land-grabbing Israelis, who establish illegal settlements in the Palestinian territory of the West Bank, as illegal Israeli settlers, than referring to them as colonists.

The term colony is a reference to a large entity or a country, such as American states before independence. It was also a reference to Egypt, and India, when they were British colonies.

In addition, the term "colony" represents a positive nostalgic theme, in the minds of native speakers of English, particularly in America and Britain.

6. It is more accurate to use the verbs "abduct" and "kidnap" than the verbs "detain" and "arrest," in reference to taking Palestinian citizens by force to prisons and interrogation centers, by Israeli occupation regime soldiers. This is because the presence of the Israeli occupation regime forces is illegal in the Palestinian territories, and they have no jurisdiction over the Palestinian people.
